Mini-Break to Brighton

This week me and my husband decided to embark on a mini adventure. After thinking of where we could go we settled on Brighton as we had both never been.

Brighton is a 3 hour trip from our house, however due to Craig needing excessive toilet breaks it ended up taking us 4 hours! Defiantly numb bottom time.

We decided to stay at the UMI Brighton, due to a special offer and it being right on the sea front. After arriving just after 2 they very kindly let us check in early. When I entered the hotel room initially I was disappointed as it was so small and had a view of a stairwell, however it was immaculately clean and staff were very friendly. If you are looking for a hotel in Brighton on a very small budget I would reccomend it.

After this we headed down to the beautiful, sprawling pebble beach. It was nice to have a bit of chill time with each other, although the weather was not at its best it was warm enough to sit for an hour with a thin cardi on. During this time we got familiar with a seagull  and played throw the stone. After this we headed onto the pier and spent some time on the 2p machines. There is something about 2p machines that makes me feel all nostalgic.

We then headed to the impressive Royal Pavilion and for a stroll around the lanes. I was so impressed by the wide variety of independent shops. It was so refreshing from the usual carbon copy high streets you see in city after city!

After a quick nap we headed out for a lovely romantic dinner at Donatello's which is a lovely independent resturant. It was so nice to take time out, have a chat and share a nice bottle of wine. The food was exceptional and the resturant provided a lovely atmosphere, after that we headed to a bar for some cheeky cocktails. It was decorated with the most beautiful fairy lights.

When we woke up the next morning we headed out for breakfast at The Creperie which was decorated with the most thoughtful decorations and little touches. My fresh orange juice and lemon crepe was so tasty. After another wander we went for a late lunch at The Brighton Marina.

If anyone is considering a mini break I would reccomend Brighton. It is such a nice place with lots to do and see and after our first visit we will defiantly be returning sometime. It was also lovely to take some time away from our laptops, time from our mobiles and spend some time enjoying each other's company. Spending time and making memories with the ones you love makes you realise what life is really about.

What is your favourite memory? What is your favourite place to visit?

Love Emma
